Marina Bay Sands: TODAI

I'm not a huge fan of buffet but Todai @ Marina Bay Sands, an upscale "all you care to eat" international seafood and sushi buffet restaurant which serves Chinese, Japanese, Western, Korean and Italian cuisines, is one of my favourite buffet restaurants in Singapore :)

I was googling about buffets and I've found one interesting fact: Many people have the misconception that by not eating the whole day before the buffet would give your stomach more "room" for the food but this might backfire on you. I always chew on nuts (almonds/cashews/walnuts) before the buffet because it's healthy and it helps to slow down your digestive process :)

Fry/Grill/Oven Hot Food: ★★★★☆
Western Hot Food/Chinese Hot Food: ★★★★☆
Sushi & Roll/Sashimi/Salad: ★★☆☆☆
Korean Food/Dimsum: ★★★☆☆
Desserts: ★★★★☆

I avoid high carbohydrate food such as potatoes, wheat, waffles, pizzas, cakes and crackers.

Fry, Grill & Oven Hot Food
Wanton/Spring Roll/Mango Shrimp/Duck with Caramel Sauce/Fried Rice/Brocoli & Mushroom/Tofu/Mantous
The mantous were topped with chilli crab sauce!!!!!!! I would try not to touch bread/buns during buffet but this is a MUST to have.

Fry & Grill
Salmon/Chicken Teriyaki/Fish Cutlet with Tar Tar Sauce/Deep Fried Sweet Pumpkin and Potato/Bacon Roll

Fry & Grill
Oyster/Deep Fried Potato/Salmon/Fish Cutlet with Tar Tar Sauce/Cod Fish

Fry & Grill
Cod Fish

Sushi & Roll
Udon

Sushi & Roll
California/Alaska/Green Eye/Volcano/Caterpillar/White Dragon/Merlion/Crunch

Salad & Seafood

Seafood
ALASKAN CRABS
I know crab meat is fattening but honestly I couldn't be bothered thinking about the calories and weight I was going to gain.

Soup
Every meal is complete with a bowl of mushroom soup :)

CHILLI CRABS

Korean Food

This was mixture of caesar salad, smoked salmon, garlic bread, kimchi and SPICY KOREAN RICE CAKE (ddeokbokki) cooked in spicy chilli paste sauce. It was my first time eating korean rice cake and I'm so in love with it!!! If you have any idea where to eat yummy korean rice cake, please share!!!!!!

Dessert & Cake
MEH.
The orange and dragon fruit were bitter and the the honeydew was hard and bland. The only sweet and juicy fruit was watermelon.

Dessert & Cake
Waffle with Maple Syrup/Coffee Cake/Garlic Bread

Dessert & Cake
There are two flavours of ice cream - chocolate and vanilla. My top choice would be vanilla ice cream topped with Hershey's chocolate syrup and chocolate chips!

The dessert bowl was quite small so we used a plate! Hmmm, not very pleasant looking...

Dessert & Cake
Mango Cheesecake/Eclair/Chocolate Fudge/Marshmallow with Chocolate Fondue/Macarons/Brownie

Dessert & Cake
Macarons/Strawberry Shortcake/Cheesecake/Brownie

I always search for tips to enjoy and survive a buffet so here are some useful tips which I have googled and some from myself.

#1 Don't Skip Meals
#2 Choose Expensive Food (you pay the same amount for a lobster and a bread!)
#3 Don't waste (always start with a small sample to reduce the wastage and try a broader range of food laid out on the buffet table)
#4 Cold Atmosphere would make you eat more.
#5 Listen To Your Body (stop when you have to or it might lead to digestive problems)
#6 Don't Start with High Carbo Food
#7 Wear Comfortable and Slightly Loose Clothing

I eat buffet once in every 6 months and buffet in Singapore is expensive so I won't really bother if it is fattening or unhealthy. Hello, I don't pay that amount of money to lead a healthy lifestyle there. If that's the case, I might as well just eat salad.
